CMCC SPS4 seasonal forecast maps

CMCC Seasonal Prediction System 4 forecast maps from Copernicus C3S. Compare CMCC SPS4 with ECMWF, UK Met Office, Météo-France and DWD on synchronized maps.

The CMCC Seasonal Prediction System comes from the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change in Italy and is based on the CMCC coupled climate model, with a community atmosphere model coupled to the NEMO ocean and a dynamic sea-ice model.

The Copernicus catalogue lists the current version as system 4 (SPS4). This site uses 50 forecast members and 30 hindcast members per reference year for probabilities. As with DWD, the CMCC origin and system are checked independently on import.

New initializations are imported monthly. The system version is taken from the live Copernicus catalogue for each run, so the version shown on a map panel always matches the data behind it.
