Seasonal forecast comparisons

Each page below takes one comparison question, answers it with the operational forecasts currently imported from Copernicus C3S, and links to the exact map setup so you can look for yourself.

  1. ECMWF vs UK Met Office seasonal forecasts

How ECMWF SEAS5 and UK Met Office GloSea6 differ, how their current seasonal outlooks compare over Europe, and how to open both on one shared map.

  2. Europe seasonal temperature outlook: five models compared

The Europe-average temperature anomaly each seasonal model forecasts for the months ahead, from the latest Copernicus C3S runs, with links to the maps.

  3. How the seasonal outlook changed between monthly runs

Compare the previous and latest initializations of each seasonal model on the same valid month to see where the outlook held and where it shifted.

How these pages stay current

The tables are regenerated from the imported catalogue after every monthly import, so they always describe the runs the maps show. The latest initialization is September 2026, imported on 12 September 2026. Earlier runs stay available in the workspace and on the between-runs page for as long as they remain in the catalogue. The written explanations are reviewed separately and carry their own review date.
